Shortie – Always Be Willing
10 But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly but in private. 11 The Jews were looking for him at the feast, and saying, “Where is he?” 12 And there was much muttering about him among the people. While some said, “He is a good man,” others said, “No, he is leading the people astray.” 13 Yet for fear of the Jews no one spoke openly of him. ~ John 7:10-13 English Standard Version (ESV)
This morning, God taught me that many people will have opinions of his Son. They did back in the day, and they do today. During the Feast of Booths, the Jewish leaders were looking for him, and the some people were saying “he’s a good man” and others were saying “he’s leading people astray,” yet all of them didn’t talk about him, at least to the Jewish leaders. Today people are saying many things about Jesus: “he was just a good man”, “He didn’t exist” or “He was, and is, the Son of God.” Even in situations where the world discourages us from speaking the truth about Christ, we should always be willing and ready to proclaim the good news about Jesus.
Lord, thank you for the good news of your Son. Help us to always be ready to proclaim the good news about Jesus, even and especially when the world tells us to hush. When this happens, let us sing all the louder, “until the whole world hears” Sir. We love you, to you be all the glory, and it’s in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
Shout to the Lord all the earth let us sing…
Thanks for the reminder Colin!
